As Wycombe push for the League Two play-offs, the club hopes Claridge will help improve the club’s goalscoring ratio of a goal every game after 26 league matches this season.

Ex-Wycombe manager Martin O’Neill signed Claridge at Leicester City for £1.2m. He will team up with winger Steve Guppy at the Causeway before his former Foxes teammate jets off to play soccer in the States. The pair last played together in Leicester’s promotion campaign to the Premiership in 1996.

"I can confirm that Steve Claridge will be joining Wycombe Wanderers on a one month's loan," said Brentford manager Martin Allen.

Meanwhile, forward Drewe Broughton, signed on a two-month loan deal in December is suspended for Wycombe’s next two league fixtures.
