Midfielder Clint Easton, who has recovered from a knee injury that kept him out of action for three months, could be asked to fill the vacant roll.

"Clint looks like a player again. He looks really fit and is pushing for a first team place," said Wycombe boss John Gorman.

The 27-year-old ex-Watford and Norwich player acquired in the summer, became a regular under Tony Adams at the start of this season. It was the departed manager who tried Easton at left back first, for only 23 minutes against Boston United, before the player picked up the injury.

Millwall defender Craig has turned out 16 times in that position for the Chairboys since then, but will feature for the final time in Wycombe colours at home againt Macclesfield Town next weekend.

Gorman also gave Watford’s Jamie Collins an opportunity to claim a short-term deal. He was given a trial as part of the Wycombe side that eased to a 5-0 victory against Crystal Palace reserves.
