The former Wrexham forward injured his knee in training and missed the weekend trip to Swansea City.
He started six times for Wycombe in the last month after recovering from a spate of injuries over the past 18 months. That good progress took a backward step in the build up to Wycombe’s first competitive game in twelve days.
Without Faulconbridge’s services, the Chairboys avoided a fourth league defeat in eight under the new manager. Centre-half Roger Johnson, who recently signed an extension to his contract gave Wycombe hope, after defeat had seemed the likely conclusion at two goals down. The 21-year-old’s second headed goal in four games was followed up by Steve Guppy’s direct free-kick, that managed to deceive the Swan’s defence as it crept in.
"There’s so much quality at this club that once we get scoring on a regular basis there will be no looking back," said assistant coach Steve Brown.
