Wycombe V Chesterfield at Adams Park - Match Preview

Chairboys' fitness woes lift

Wycombe's injury problems are continuing to clear up as they look to bounce back from the 1-0 defeat to Exeter against Chesterfield.

That home loss saw Charles Dunne (foot) return to the squad along with Dave Winfield and Dean Morgan (both hamstring) as their terrible injury list begins to shorten.

Morgan, who signed a contract until the end of the season on Thursday, could be handed a start but fellow striker Ade Azeez has returned to parent club Charlton.

The 18-year-old made five appearances during a month-long loan spell and despite player-manager Gareth Ainsworth wanting to keep him Azeez has returned to The Valley.

Midfielder Josh Scowen (hamstring) is unlikely to return but Leon Johnson is back in training and could be named in the squad while Ainsworth will have to decide whether to include himself in the 18.

Other options include QPR loanee Michael Harriman who made his debut against the Grecians but Danny Foster, Matt Bloomfield and Gary Doherty remain on the sidelines.

Chesterfield remain without the suspended Conor Townsend.

The on-loan defender serves the second of a three-match ban following his red card against Morecambe.

Defender Terrell Forbes, striker Scott Boden and winger Jack Waddle have all been placed on the transfer list and are not expected to be involved.

Cook has no fresh injury concerns for the fixture but is expected to make changes following the 1-0 defeat at Accrington on New Year's Day.

Jack Lester and Marc Richards were paired in a front two at the Crown Ground but Cook could revert to playing one striker while midfielder Dan Whitaker may be recalled to the starting XI.

The Spireites have won just one of their last five matches and are four points off the play-off places.
