Hereford United missed two glorious chances in the closing stages as they took a point from Adams Park.

The Bulls missed two sitters in the last ten minutes, the guilty men being Luke Webb and Phil Gulliver.

Wycombe Wanderers who were fielding three emergency loan players in Fola Onibuje, Tony McParland and the returning Ricardo Batista put in an improved second-half performance but never really got going.

Both sides made a cautious start to the game, and it took almost half an hour for either side to register a decent effort at goal, but Tim Sills headed straight at Batista when he met Simon Travis's shot from just ten yards.

Hereford had a good case for a penalty minutes later, as Sills seemed to be brought down by Will Antwi but the man that counts, referee Mr Hegley, thought otherwise.

The visitors continued to dominate as Wycombe failed to get a grip on the game and were furious when another penalty shout was turned down on 37 minutes.

Antwi was again the man involved as he bundled over Alan Connell but United were denied again.

Wycombe boss Paul Lambert must have had some stern words in the dressing room at half-time as his side looked rejuvenated after the break.

Jermaine Easter just headed wide and Stefan Oakes narrowly volleyed wide within the first few minutes.

And Onibuje should have marked his debut with a goal when he read Alex Jeannin's header back to keeper Wayne Brown, but the keeper did well and big striker could only shoot straight at him.

Hereford then almost took the lead with their first shot of the half on 67 minutes, Andy Ferrell thundering the crossbar with a 30-yard piledriver that Batista seemed to just get a fingertip to.

Then came two great chances for Hereford with just ten minutes remaining. After a great driving run by Ferrell down the left, the tireless midfielder squared the ball for Webb who with the goal gaping in front of him somehow fired wide.

Then Gulliver's shot from just ten yards was somehow pushed on to the bar by Batista.
