Blues suffer surprise defeat

Wycombe, who had won their last four games away from home, had very few opportunities to rescue a point. Nathan Tyson hit the woodwork with a header late on and had another effort veer wide of the upright before the break.

For United, Tess Bramble was moved into a centre forward role from left midfield, and it was he who opened the scoring with a 35-yard drive after 15 minutes. Gus Uhleenbeek equalised five minutes later, with his second goal in two games, following some sloppy defending by the home side.

The home side managed to hold onto their half time advantage at Abbey Road. Elsewhere, nothing could separate Kidderminster and Rushden at the bottom of the table, while Chester City secured three points at home to Notts County.
