Crewe V Wycombe at The Alexandra Stadium - Match Preview

Ray of light for Crewe

George Ray could come back into the reckoning for Crewe's FA Cup first-round replay against Wycombe at Gresty Road.

The defender missed the initial tie nine days ago due to a tight hamstring, with the same problem keeping him out of the 5-0 league defeat at Brentford on Saturday.

Ray's possible return aside, manager Steve Davis will probably be able to pick from the same group of players. Midfielder Ryan Colclough (hamstring) and full-back Matt Tootle (foot) are expected to resume training this week and could be back ahead of the derby clash against Port Vale.

Should Crewe get through they will host Preston in the second round next month.

Wycombe have a number of injury absentees as they look to get back to winning ways.

Young centre-back Kortney Hause is set for a spell on the sidelines after sustaining an avulsion fracture of his left ankle while fellow defender Nick Arnold has returned to parent club Reading for treatment after a recurrence of a groin injury.

Jon-Paul Pittman (ankle) and Jo Kuffour (thigh strain) will be missing but one striker who looks set to start is Northern Ireland Under-21 international Matt McClure.

McClure netted his fifth of the season against Cheltenham on Saturday but was only a substitute having suffered dizziness and a loss of memory following a clash of heads against Swindon.
