Wycombe boss Tony Adams has strongly hinted there will be first team opportunities for current fringe players at Conference side Aldershot in the LDV Trophy tomorrow night. Adams has been forced into rebuilding the squad around short-term loans and youth players this season, which paid off after the first eight games of the season.
Centre-half, Charlie Comwyn Platt, on a month’s contract from Bolton Wanderers is expected to make a second appearance for the club. There is also likely to be room in the starting line-up for left-back Andy Reilly and striker Jonny Dixon who were among the substitutes on Saturday. 19-year-old midfielder Russell Martin could also start for the first time since arriving from Brighton in August.
"You don't know how good they are going to be until you play them in the first team - you can't do a mock up," said Adams, who remained unhappy with his team’s performance at the weekend. Keith Ryan’s 74th minute equaliser earned Wycombe a point away from Adams Park.
Elsewhere at the top of League Two, Yeovil and Swansea both won and moved up the table to first and third respectively, while the Saturday morning leaders Scunthorpe were held at home by Mansfield.
