Easton injury Ad's to disorder

Wycombe boss, Adams, started the 1-1 home draw against Rushden last night, with a back four comprising of Gary Silk, at right back, in for the rested Gus Uhlenbeek. 19-year-old Silk, on a season long loan from Portsmouth, had played on the left in previous games. Roger Johnson and Steve Williamson played consecutive ninety minutes together for the first time, while midfielder Clint Easton, a substitute on Saturday, began the game at left back.

Early on, Charlie Comyn-Platt needed to replace Easton, when the player became involved in a nasty clash that later required 25 stitches to a gashed knee.

Adams: "Clint was looking quite comfortable in that left back role for us. He’s got good delivery, a great left foot and defensively he was doing a job so it’s a shame. We’ve got a problem in that position, we all know that, and we need to find someone from somewhere."

Previously, Comyn-Platt had a problematic Wycombe debut on the left side of a four-man defence against Swansea in September. Adams believes he is one for the future and was even preferred to Roger Johnson in central defence against Shrewsbury. An unused substitute at Boston on Saturday, he was pulled off in the defeat by Scunthorpe the week before, after Adams had chose to start the game with five defenders.

Nethercott has now completed two games of a three-match ban after being disciplined for comments made to the referee in the tunnel at Glanford Park. He will be available for selection ahead of the trip to Darlington in ten days, and the midweek LDV Vans second round home tie with current League Two leaders Swansea City on Tuesday week.
