Faulconbridge crocked again

It’s feared the 26-year-old’s Wycombe career could be over - the knee operation is likely to prevent him making a return before the end of the season, and his contract runs out in the summer.

Wycombe striker Jonny Dixon was called back a month early, from a loan spell at Conference side Aldershot when the extent of Craig Faulconbridge’s latest injury became clear.

Dixon made a substitute appearance at Gay Meadow last weekend. The 21-year-old replaced Nathan Tyson for the last 15 minutes of the 1-0 league win at Shrewsbury Town.

He almost marked his return after a four-month absence with a goal. His goalbound effort, met from a corner, was cleared off the goal line. He had managed to score nine goals in 12 appearances during two separate month long loan spells at the Surrey club.

"I needed a few games and enjoyed my spell at Aldershot but it’s good to be back now. I haven’t been involved at Wycombe for a long time and wasn’t in favour with the previous management but John Gorman has been brilliant. He’s shown faith and confidence in me and has said that he wants me here," said Dixon.
