Going in front first is the aim

Wycombe travel to Mansfield Town weather permitting, hoping to repeat the defeat inflicted on Brian Laws high-flyers Scunthorpe United last Tuesday by taking another early advantage. Steve Claridge scored his first goal for the club against Scunthorpe at the Causeway in the 13th minute.

The Chairboys have managed to adapt in order to get a result after the opposition has sat back after taking the lead, but its not the way manager John Gorman wants his team to play.

"It would be nice to go in front as we did last week because it makes a difference, rather than having to come from behind like we had to do against Darlington," said Gorman.

With a home fixture against Notts County coming up at the weekend, Wycombe have a real chance of remaining undefeated throughout February.

"We've got to put the home form right. I think the key to us is going ahead first and if we do that I believe we can really push on," said Claridge.
