Gorman in the comfort zone

The former Plymouth striker sidefooted the visitors ahead from 12 yards, with three minutes of the first half remaining, after an initial effort from Stephen Cooke was blocked.

Manager John Gorman was happy with the overall performance, even though nearly all of Wycombe's forward play in the first 45 minutes was pumped into the air.

"There was a difference in attitude after the break and we showed that we could get the ball down and play. County's long throws were always a problem, but I thought our back four dealt with the threat admirably," said Gorman.

Gary Silk returned to the Wycombe defence, and new loan signing Cooke began on the left wing. Danny Senda played much of the game in a more central role alongside Keith Ryan before Matt Bloomfield replaced Cooke after 68 minutes.

"Cooke was involved and Bloomfield did really well when he came on. If we play as a team like we played today especially in the second half then we have nobody in this league to fear," he added.

Tyson was unable to run off a bashed knee and was withdrawn after an hour. Steve Guppy came off the bench as Stonebridge moved up to partner Craig Faulconbridge for the remaining thirty minutes as Wycombe held on for a precious away victory.
