No hesi-Tyson

The former Reading hit man is now looking forward to getting as close to the 20-goal mark as possible before the end of the season.

Tyson coolly converted a penalty - awarded after the club’s top scorer this season had been brought-to-ground by Shrew’s Darren Tinson. Having been unable to register a single strike in his previous eight games, Tyson’s 11th league goal of the campaign, was more important than any other as it helped Wycombe to claim their first three points since the middle of December.

When the 22-year-old picked himself up from the boggy marsh that is Gay Meadow, he was in no mind to hand over to veteran strike partner Steve Claridge the responsibility of scoring the game’s opening goal.

"I won the penalty and there was no way I wasn't going to take it. Steve Claridge wanted it, but he's 38. I told him he has had his time and that I was going to take it. I've never missed a penalty in a first team match and I knew I would score," said Tyson.
