Perpetuini played for 65 minutes at left back with Clint Easton returning to the centre of midfield in place of absentee Joe Burnell.

"We gave him (Perpetuini) the chance to get back into football and he’s repaid us by getting fit and doing a good job. He’s got a lot of quality and we’re delighted to have such a special player on board," said Gorman.

However, he was withdrawn along with Steve Guppy as manager John Gorman, in search of an equaliser, brought on two extra strikers in their place. Guppy left the field with an achilles injury, which made him doubtful for the home game with Brian Laws Scunthorpe United.

Gorman also commented on the positive influence 39-year-old midfielder Rob Lee has had on the squad since his arrival at the club last week.

"Getting Rob in has been a boost for the lads. He’s a quality player and his experience and ability has rubbed off already," Gorman added.
