Poll - Help explain Blues home slump

Last updated : 18 March 2005 By Alistair Murray

Wycombe boss John Gorman described last weekend’s home defeat against Notts County as a ‘shot in the foot’.

Falling behind in games is a problem Wycombe have been encountering both home and away this season. Taking the lead first is imperative for a side so intent on playing the attractive passing game, but why have Wycombe conceded first so regularly, especially at home?

Ian Stonebidge has watched the Blues from the same vantage point as the fans for a lot of the season, but the 22-year-old has returned to the team and struck two goals in the last two games.

Vote for which of the two viewpoints below you feel is closest to explaining Wycombe’s poor home record. If you feel something else is going wrong at the Causeway this season then choose the ‘other’ option. Please feel free to e-mail the editor your suggestions on this topic and we will endeavour to publish the best ones.

Stonebridge says: "Obviously teams know we want to pass the ball so when they come here they do everything they can to make it difficult for us."

Manager John Gorman says: "I don't know why it is that our home form is so disappointing. Maybe we are trying too hard to win the games when sometimes we should be a bit more patient and be happy to take just a draw."
