Assistant-player manager Ryan who made his Wycombe debut back in 1990 scored his 50th goal in his 499th game for the club last weekend.

"It means everything to score 50 goals for this club. I had been stuck on 49 for some time and I was desperate to get to 50," said Ryan.

Wycombe have swiftly moved up the League Two ladder as Christmas approaches. The club was left in the lurch when Tony Adams walked out six weeks ago but since then promotion has returned to the club's New Year agenda.

"The result against Lincoln has put us back into the top six which is where we want to be. It is exciting times," added Ryan.

After the visit of fourth placed Southend on Sunday, Wycombe go to Macclesfield on Tuesday.
