New Wycombe signing Chris Westwood may have won promotion from League Two three times, but he has warned supporters he is no lucky charm. The 33-year-old has helped Walsall, Hartlepool and Peterborough out of the bottom tier of the Football League, and hopes to add Wycombe to the list.

He told BBC Three Counties Radio: "I don't think I'm a lucky charm, it's just about consistency.

"I don't see anything wrong with us aiming for the top three."

He added: "The way we ended last season, we more than held our own against the so-called better sides.

"If we can do it against them, I can't see a reason why we can't go straight back up."

The Chairboys succumbed to League One relegation last season, despite a late rally towards the end of the season.

Boss Gary Waddock took the reins at Adams Park in October and has had the summer to build his own side.

"The gaffer had a decision to make on the lads who were out of contract," Westwood continued.

"But he's been given the chance to bring players in who he's worked with before and to make most of the squad his own squad."

Meanwhile Wycombe have announced a deal with local company Beechdean to sponsor the back of the team's shirts for the 2010/11 season.
