Widemen offered new deals

21-year-old Stephen Cooke has only made two appearances on the right flank since arriving on a month's loan from Aston Villa, but the Scot is keen to thrash out a permanent deal for the player.

On the left wing Steve Guppy, fourteen years Cooke's senior has continued to turn out on a game-by-game basis.

Guppy could make seven more appearances for the club before a proposed move to the States where he hopes to end his illustrious playing career next year.

"I came back to Wycombe to help (former caretaker manager) Keith Ryan and that's what I've done. The idea is still to go to America and I'm hoping it will all be sorted out over the next couple of days. It would be something I'd relish," said Guppy.

The ex-England international, currently enjoying his second spell at the club, provided the cross for Ryan to score the match winner against Lincoln last weekend. The last gasp header was Ryan's 50th goal for the club, which he celebrated in front of the home supporters.

"I saw Steve by the corner and it was just like the old days when we were teammates in the Conference. I thought I was 23 again and raced in there to attack the cross. It was a great ball in and I was lucky enough to get on the end of it," said Ryan.
