Wycombe Wanderers manager Gary Waddock still hopes to make at least one more signing before the start of the season. The Chairboys have already secured the signatures of five players as Waddock looks to lead his team straight back following relegation from League One.

But Waddock told BBC Three Counties Radio: "I will make another addition.

"That won't be just yet. I'll be a little bit more patient. But I would like to get them, probably, within the next two weeks."

Waddock has made it clear that he is in the market for at least one versatile player, who can fill the gaps in his side when necessary.

"Obviously you have targets," he said. "I have identified a few players for that role.

"I'll bring one in, possibly two, and then the group's complete.

"We've got some good, experienced pros in there with a good blend of younger players.

"Where that will take us come the end of the season we don't know, but we know what we want to achieve."

Wycombe's summer transfer activity so far has seen two strikers arrive, Scott Rendell and Ben Strevens, as well as midfielder Kieran Murtagh and defenders Dave Winfield and Danny Foster.

Rendell was reportedly keen to stay at Torquay, for whom he scored 13 goals on loan from Peterborough last season. But Waddock insists that he had no trouble in persuading the 23-year-old to come to Adams Park.

"When I met him he was very positive about coming," said Waddock.

"I had a chat with him and showed him around. We were pleased to get him, he's a very good signing."

Meanwhile, Wycombe's 19-year-old winger Matt Phillips has been named in England's squad for the European Under-19 Championships in France.

England are in Group A with Austria, Holland and France, with the top six teams in the tournament going through to the Under-20 World Cup.
