Wycombe have work to do - Waddock

Waddock told BBC Three Counties Radio: "Of course it will be a big confidence boost to the players.

"But we haven't picked up any points yet. It's all about going into the Morecambe game in confident mood."

The result saw new signings Scott Rendell and Ben Strevens get on the scoresheet, as well as a quick-fire hat-trick rom John-Paul Pittman.

"It's important because you want your centre-forwards to go into games in a confident manner," Waddock added.

Absolutely great to see all of our frontline strikers get goals, albeit against Chelsea Under-5s. I wonder if Ancelotti even knew they had a friendly against us

"Obviously John-Paul will get a pat on the back for his hat-trick but I'm pleased with all three of them."

The Chairboys also had a star man at the other end of the pitch, with recent recruit Nicky Bull proving his worth in goal by keeping the likes of Chelsea striker Scott Sinclair at bay.

"He's an outstanding keeper, I've known him for a long time, back to QPR when he was coming through," said the Wanderers boss.

"I knew what I was getting with him. The scoreline could have been a lot closer but for Bully and his saves."

Meanwhile Andy Sandell and Stuart Beavon have stepped up their pre-season training in pursuit of match fitness.
