Wycombe V Leicester at Adams Park - Match Preview

Chairboys strong for Foxes test

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth looks likely to name a strong line-up as his side look to replicate their famous cup victory over Leicester.

The only previous competitive meeting between the sides back in 2001 saw Roy Essandoh net the winning goal to send the Chairboys into the FA Cup semi-final and Ainsworth will not be resting his star men as they look for another memorable cup scalp.

Matt Bloomfield, Matt McClure and Gary Doherty are all short of match fitness and look unlikely to be named in the starting line-up while Lee Angol is doubtful for the Adams Park clash.

Zak Whitbread and Ben Marshall will both miss Leicester's trip through injury.

Whitbread was carried off on a stretcher following a blow to the head early on in the Foxes opening game of the Championship campaign at Middlesbrough on Saturday.

The defender is expected to take part in non-contact training on Monday, but he will not travel to Buckinghamshire, and should be available when Nigel Pearson's side resume league action at home to Leeds at the weekend.

Winger Marshall, an unused substitute at the Riverside Stadium, will have to wait a little longer for his first outing of the season with the former Stoke youngster set to miss the first round tie through illness.
