Wycombe V Morecambe at Adams Park - Match Preview

Ainsworth has attacking options

Wycombe boss Gareth Ainsworth has plenty of attacking options available to him for the season opener against Morecambe.

New signings Paris Cowan-Hall, Jon-Paul Pittman and Steven Craig are all vying for a starting berth in the Chairboys' attack.

The manager must now decide which of these will feature in his front two on Saturday.

Ainsworth could also include goalkeeper Charlie Horlock and defender Nick Arnold in his squad following their arrivals from Stevenage and Reading respectively.

Morecambe hope Padraig Amond's signing will be ratified in time for the striker to feature.

The Shrimps announced on Thursday that they had reached terms on a two-year deal with the ex-Accrington forward and were waiting for the Football League's seal of approval.

He would go straight into consideration for a starting berth up front given Jack Redshaw, last season's leading marksman, has picked up a hip injury which will keep him out for the first half of the season.

Defender Chris McCready should feature, though, despite only recently making his comeback from ankle surgery.
