Wanderers continue their climb

Gareth Ainsworth's 10-man Wycombe extended their unbeaten League run to five games with a feisty 2-0 victory at Accrington.

Bruno Andrade opened the scoring in the 11th minute when Stuart Lewis' shot from the right was deflected to the far post and the QPR loanee stroked the ball home from 12 yards.

It was two in the 34th minute when Dean Morgan burst through and his initial shot hit the post before bouncing out for striker Matt McClure to finish off.

However McClure turned from hero to villain as he picked up two quick bookings after the break and saw red in the 55th minute.

It was Wanderers who could have extended their lead though when Andrade burst forward and drew out keeper Paul Rachubka but his effort hit the side netting.

Stanley had first-half chances through a Lee Molyneux free kick and a Rommy Boco 25-yard blast and then pressed with the visitors down to 10 men.

Molyneux found the side netting and there were plenty of goalmouth scrambles with Marcus Carver and Peter Murphy having shots blocked but no one was able to find the back of the net for Stanley in a match that ended with five yellow cards and one red.
