Tommy Mooney's second half strike preserved Wycombe Wanderers' unbeaten start to the season and secure a 1-1 draw at Darlington.

Wanderers remain the only side in England not to have been beaten in the league after Mooney pounced in the 65th minute to earn John Gorman's men a hard-earned point after Simon Johnson had given Quakers a first half lead.

Mooney was unmarked at the back post to lash an unstoppable drive past Quakers keeper Sam Russell.

Stefan Oakes had two good efforts at goal early on - volleying both, but failing to cause Quakers keeper Sam Russell any problems.

Akpo Sodje then saw his effort deflected over after good work down the left by Johnson as Quakers continued to dominate.

The home side had Russell to thank in the 22nd minute when the keeper pulled off a superb point-blank save to deny Matt Bloomfield from Kevin Betsy's cross.

And, just seconds after referee Carl Boyeson waved away appeals for a Wycombe penalty - after Betsy went down in the box under a challenge from Matt Clarke- Johnson gave Quakers a 35th minute lead, with the help of a wicked deflection off Keogh.

Wycombe drew level in the 65th minute through Mooney. After a spell of pressure from the visitors, Betsy crossed from the right for Mooney, who took the ball down with his chest, before driving past Russell.

Charlie Griffin then rounded Russell to tap the ball into an empty net, only to have the goal ruled out for offside.

As Wanderers pushed for a winner, Quakers were reduced to ten men in the 89th minute when substitute Clark Keltie was sent off for a professional foul on Matt
Bloomfield.
