On-loan striker Deon Burton scored his first goal for ten months to help end Swindon's seven-match run without a win and send Wycombe to the bottom of the second division table.

Burton, on a month's loan from Portsmouth, last scored on New Year's Day against Watford but showed he has lost none of his confidence by firing home from 15 yards in the tenth minute.

Midfielder Stefani Miglioranzi added a spectacular second goal in the 66th minute to leave Wycombe still searching for their first away win of the season, as they slipped below Chesterfield in the standings.

But Swindon boss Andy King admitted: "It wasn't a pretty game and in the first half we defended too deep.

"We didn't play well but we got the early goal and then Stefani scored a fantastic second.

"The longer the second half went on, the better we got and it's good to get a win under our belts again." Burton's strike partner Tommy Mooney set up the Jamaica international for his first goal since joining Swindon and he could have added a second four minutes before the interval with a volley from the edge of the area, but it flew narrowly over the crossbar.

But Swindon were indebted to goalkeeper Rhys Evans for preserving their slender advantage before Miglioranzi settled the game midway through the second half.

Wycombe striker Gavin Holligan somehow failed to find the target from just six yards out in the 14th minute and when his attacking partner Jermaine McSporran did fire two shots in on Swindon's goal, Evans was equal to the task.

The England Under-21 goalkeeper denied McSporran from a quick free-kick in the 18th minute and did even better six minutes later to tip his fierce 20-yard shot over the crossbar.

King sent on star striker Sam Parkin as a second-half substitute and his presence gave the home side the lift they needed to score the second crucial goal.

Parkin created space on the right for Miglioranzi to cut in and curl a superb left-footed shot home from the edge of the area giving goalkeeper Frank Talia no chance.
