Lowe leaves Chairboys standing

Ryan Lowe marked his first start for Sheffield Wednesday with the winning goal in a 2-1 victory at Wycombe.

Teenager Jordan Ibe had given the hosts hope on his first start in the Football League when he cancelled out Jose Semedo`s opener, only for Lowe to head home soon afterwards.

Most of the action came in the first half and Semedo scored after 23 minutes when he reacted quickest to Lowe's effort that struck the post.

But the Chairboys were level on the half-hour mark as 15-year-old Ibe scored his first senior goal with a fine strike from the edge of the area. He was the booked for celebrating with his family in the stands.

However, six minutes later Semedo turned provider for Lowe and the former Bury man made no mistake in converting the inswinging cross.

A third straight loss for Wycombe was compounded with 17 minutes left as captain Gareth Ainsworth picked up his second yellow card and was sent off.
