Blackpool came to Adams Park full of confidence needing a clean-sheet to set a club record of six consecutive shut outs.

They began strongly, when man-of-the-match Martin Bullock ran 50 yards, beating four Wycombe defenders before sending his shot past the post.

Chances came and went, with Paul Dalglish and John Murphy seeing attempts scare home keeper Frank Talia. They finally went infront when John Hills scored from the spot, to give Blackpool a deserved lead after 14 minutes.

Six minutes later Wycombe were level, when a Sean Devine cross found Craig Faulconbridge who headed beyond Phil Barnes in the away goal.

Blackpool continued to push forward and were rewarded on 28 minutes, when Bullock found Hills who fired home from 20 yards.

In the second-half Wycombe threatened in patches, but the Blackpool defence was well organised and neither side produced a clear cut chance.

The win keeps Blackpool well in touch with the leading clubs and gives them a win at Adams Park for the second season in succession.

After the game manager Steve McMahon was pleased with his team: "This was another good result for us today. I was disappointed we failed to keep a clean sheet, but considering all our problems with niggling injuriesÂ…"
