Already relegated Wycombe Wanderers signed off their season at home with a disappointing 1-1 draw against mid-table Wrexham.

The game was sparked into life with two goals in a minute late in the second half.

Previously the crowd had seen very little football and had certainly not had the entertainment they had wished for.

The home side should have taken an early lead when, on three minutes, leading scorer Nathan Tyson robbed Craig Morgan on the edge of the area, but from 12 yards he shot straight at on-loan visiting keeper Michael Ingham.

The home side had the better of what was a fairly flat opening half, passing the ball around and they made some reasonable half chances but their finishing let them down.

On 37 minutes Danny Senda swung in a free-kick from the Wycombe left which home defender Stuart Nethercott headed wide from eight yards.

Just on half-time the Welsh visitors had their best chance of the half. Nethercott slipping in his own area allowing Hector Sam a free run but his shot was well saved by on loan keeper Wayne Henderson.

On 64 minutes Tyson got away again from the Wrexham defence, he fed the on rushing Dannie Bulman who drove just wide from 25 yards.

The home side took a deserved lead on 79 minutes, captain for the day Steve Brown swung in a corner and the ball fell to Ian Simpemba who laid it back to Roger Johnson and the young defender gleefully drove the ball into the corner.

However the lead lasted less than a minute. Straight from the kick off a comical mix up between Republic of Ireland Under-21 internationals Simpemba and Henderson resulted in a simple chance which Chris Llewellyn happily took for his eighth goal of the campaign.

Wrexham seemed to settle for a point and easily shut out the home side's efforts for the remaining ten minutes.
